The Pendlebury Library is a library for Musicology and exists primarily to support the teaching and research programmes of the Faculty of Music. The Library is also available to senior and junior members of other faculties, as well as to other members of the University; borrowing rights are accorded to all resident members of the University.
The Library also admits users from outside the University. Access for readers from other HEIs and for independent researchers is granted on the basis of a ‘library of last resort’ and provided that the applicant has exhausted the resources of the University Library; undergraduates from other HEIs are granted access only in Cambridge vacations.
Researchers wishing to consult the Library’s collections of rare books and music, microforms, facsimiles, or archives should apply to the Librarian well in advance of their proposed visit.
All those seeking admission to the Library are strongly advised to consult the full Library Regulations
Before using the Pendlebury Library for the first time registration is required. Registration forms are available at the issue desk.
In order to be able to borrow readers must also bring their University/UL card to the issue desk, where they will be entered on the Pendlebury Library database. We will only be able to register cards that have already been validated at the University Library.
